PERMANENT JEWELLERY BY STUDIOKATE

TERMS & CONDITIONS

PERMANENT JEWELLERY INFORMATION

Permanent jewellery refers to custom-fitted pieces that are securely welded together using a jump ring, allowing you to wear them continuously without a clasp. These pieces are made from high-quality materials such as Sterling Silver 925, Solid Gold, and Gold Filled, all chosen for their durability and suitability for long-term wear. While designed to be longlasting, permanent jewellery is not indestructible. Breakages can occur if the piece becomes caught or if aftercare guidelines aren ’t followed properly. With the right care, however, these pieces can last for many years. It’ s important to note that the term “ permanent” refers to the intended continuous wear of the jewellery — not that it must be worn forever. You can remove it at any time and have adjustments made as needed.

AFTERCARE RECOMMENDATIONS:

To ensure the longevity of your permanent jewellery, please follow these aftercare guidelines:

  • Avoid overexposure to chemicals (for example, [perfume, cleaning products, lotions etc)
  • Limit overexposure to seawater, chlorinated pools, and hot tubs to prevent discolouration, and ensure your jewellery is rinsed after exposure.
  • Be cautious during physical activity to prevent stretching, scratching, or breaking.

Cleaning Tips

  • After swimming or sweating, rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
  • Use a clean, soft cloth to remove oils and sweat.
  • For a deeper clean, use mild soap with lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Contact By Studiokate for advice on recommended jewellery cleaners and cloths.

BOOKING INFORMATION:

Due to By Studiokate primarily operating through pop-up events and private bookings, appointment availability may be limited. You can check current availability on our social media platforms or by contacting us directly at hellostudiokate@outlook.com or via the website www.bystudiokate.co.uk. While By Studiokate strives to accommodate all booking requests, please be aware that there may be a waiting list for appointments. For any mobile appointments a small travelling may be added and can be discussed at the time of booking.

ADJUSTMENTS & CUSTOMISATION:

Your jewellery is custom-fitted during your appointment to ensure the perfect size and comfort. We ’ll confirm you are happy with the fit before welding. Please bare in mind factors such as temperate and lifestyle factors when choosing the right fit for you.

Adjustments after fitting:

If too loose, contact By Studiokate to have the chain made smaller (additional costs apply).

If too tight, a new chain, connector, or clasp may be required (additional costs apply).

It is your responsibility to confirm sizing before welding. Although this can be adjusted after fitting, there will be additional costs incurred and there could be a wait depending on appointment availability. If the next appointment availability is not convenient then By Studiokate will discuss a resolution with you.

Adding Charms or Connectors: You can add charms or connectors post-welding for a small fee (plus the cost of the additional items). Contact By Studiokate to book an appointment.

BREAKAGE POLICY:

If your jewellery breaks:

  • At the weld point (within 12 months) we will fix it free of charge.
  • At the chain (not the weld point):  We can attempt a fix for a small fee.

If unrepairable, a new chain must be purchased.

Charms/connectors can be reused. Additional jump rings may be added which may change the look of your jewellery. It is up to you whether this is suitable; if not, a new chain must be purchased. By Studiokate is not liable for chain breakages. Replacement or repair costs are the responsibility of the customer. This includes if the broken chain is lost and has to be replaced. We do not cover damage, breakage, loss, or tarnishing after fitting unless the issue is due to a material fault, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

FAULTY JEWELLERY

By Studiokate uses high-quality materials sourced from trusted suppliers. However, if you believe your jewellery is faulty, please don ’t hesitate to get in touch. We are happy to assess the issue and work with you to find a suitable resolution.

AIRPORT SECURITY & MEDICAL PROCEDURES

Airport Security: Fine jewellery typically does not need to be removed when passing through airport security, and customers have generally reported no issues. However, it is at the discretion of the customer whether they choose to remove their jewellery before travelling.

MRI or Surgery: Some medical procedures or hospitals may require jewellery to be removed. Jewellery can be safely removed by cutting the jump ring (not the chain) using jewellery pliers or sharp scissors. By Studiokate is happy to offer guidance or arrange a free reweld appointment after your procedure.

APPOINTMENT CHOICE AND AVAILABILITY

By Studiokate makes every effort to maintain a wide range of stock. However, due to demand and availability, certain items — such as specific chains, charms, birthstones, or initials — may occasionally be unavailable. If you have something specific in mind for your appointment, By Studiokate is happy to try to source custom items to suit your preferences. To allow sufficient time, please get in touch at least 7 days prior to your appointment to discuss options and request any specific stock.

PRICE CHANGES

By Studiokate reserves the right to adjust pricing at any time. Due to the cost of materials and supplies, such as Sterling Silver and Gold, prices may be subject to change. If you have already secured a booking prior to a price increase, your original quoted price will be honoured. New pricing will apply only to bookings made after the change takes effect.

By booking an appointment or purchasing permanent jewellery from By Studiokate, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined above. By Studiokate is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from misuse, improper care, or failure to follow aftercare advice. It is the customer ’ s responsibility to ensure they are fully informed about the process, risks, and aftercare requirements prior to their appointment. All information provided is accurate at the time of publication but is subject to change without notice. By Studiokate reserves the right to update or amend these terms at any time.
